Lady Penelope is the pseudonym of Geoffrey Pimblett, the famous impersonator, best known in his character as ‘The Queen.'

This cheeky, outrageously-funny, Cordon Blue chef and restaurant owner, born and bred in the Duchy of Lancaster, comes from a long line of cooks, caterers and pie makers.

Pimblett's formal Royal journey to fame began when attending Courtfield, the renowned British cooking school, in Blackpool-By-The-Sea. After the customary grand tour of Europe, Geoffrey took up residence in London during the Carnaby Street era, walking the corridors of the Mayfair Hotel as duty manager, before settling in Canada to open his own restaurant, pub and guest house.

Pimblett's Restaurant was established in 1977, as the owner/chef created a natural stage setting to entertain his guests with culinary delights, sometimes attired as Winston Churchill, but more often than not, in a dress – ‘Cooking with the Queen.'

Discovered by food writers and media barons alike, Pimblett's became a hang-out for the rich and famous, including members of the Rolling Stones, singer Carol Pope, actor Michael Keaton, socialite Lady Iris Mountbatten, and even the Primate of the Anglican Church. See were Geoffrey got his ideas…?

The social calendar soon overflowed as our Queen took to the road, impersonating Queen Victoria for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the opening of Toronto's infamous nude bathing beach; presenting awards for the Alliance-Atlantis premier of  ‘ Mrs. Brown'.   A warning to Dame Judy Dench here, “You now have serious competition!”

The Rolls Royce was taken out of mothballs for our Queen to attend parties, picnics and balls, and she never misses a parade.  Just this last year she was asked to speak at the Retirement Roast for Hal Jackman, Chancellor of the University of Toronto and once the Queens official representative as Ontario's Lieutenant Governor.

With the joy of cooking, our galloping gourmet will soon be seen on TV. Loyal viewers are heard shouting “More! More! More!” So prepare yourselves, roll out the red carpet and wave those little union jacks, for this fall ‘Cooking With The Queen' is coming your way.

God Save the Queen! She needs all the help she can get!
